Erika Bare currently serves as Superintendent of the South Umpqua School District in Oregon. She has been an educator for over 20 years serving at every grade level and in a variety of roles. She is passionate about supporting other educators through professional development. Erika is a special education teacher by training. Her educational mission is to support all students through individualized supports so they reach their unlimited potential.
Tiffany Burns is an educational leadership coach, university instructor, and author. With over 20 years in education, she has taught in public, private, bilingual, and homeschool settings across Oregon, Alaska, and Mexico, and served as a school administrator for 12 years - including nine as a principal. Tiffany supports school and district leaders through evidence-based coaching focused on instructional improvement and sustainable systems.
Together, they wrote Connecting Through Conversation: A Playbook for Talking with Students. At the heart of their work is a commitment to ensuring all students feel cared for, loved, and experience a deep sense of belonging so they are ready and able to learn at the highest levels.
